Bradley speaks to SCV camp

The John R. Massey Camp #152, Sons of Confederate Veterans, will meet Thursday, Oct. 10, in the Fayetteville Municipal Building auditorium.

Camp Commander Dr. James Armitage will call the meeting to order at 7 p.m.

Dr. Michael Bradley, a retired professor from Motlow State Community College, author of several books on Middle Tennessee and well-known historian on the War Between the States, will be the guest speaker. Dr. Bradley’s program for the evening will be on life in Middle Tennessee during the war.

The regular camp business meeting will follow the program. Plans for the formal dedication of the new Civil War Trails marker recently installed near the Confederate monument at the Lincoln County Courthouse will be discussed.

The meeting and program are free and open to anyone interested in Southern history.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans is an international heritage organization for men who have an ancestor who served honorably in the Confederate Army or Navy and is not affiliated with any other organization. For more information about the SCV, go to scv.org.
