Religion for Oct. 2 edition

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church will host a fall revival on Oct. 2, 3 and 4 beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. There will be a different speaker each night. On Wednesday, Pastor Tim Wright is the featured speaker. Evangelist James Crutchfield is the speaker for Thursday, and on Friday Minister Kevin Griffin is the speaker. As always, everyone is welcome.  Pastor is Craig Carmichael.

 

Fish Fest Too is set for Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Admission is free. Fish Fest Too will feature Rush of Fool, the Rhett Walker Band and All Things New.

 

“Prayer on the Square” will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, starting at 7 a.m. on the Lincoln County Courthouse lawn. All Christians are invited to come out and pray for our nation.

 

“Harvest Happening”, St. Anthony Catholic Church’s annual fall festival, will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Cost for the spaghetti and lasagna dinner is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. There will also be hamburgers, hotdogs, polish sausage and authentic Mexican cuisine for lunch. There will also be bargain sales, games, face painting, prizes and concessions. Proceeds benefit local charities. The church is located at 1900 Huntsville Highway in Fayetteville.

 

Mt. Olive will have its Fall Revival on Oct. 6-8. On Oct. 6 at 3 p.m., the Rev. Brenda Bass is the featured speaker. The Rev. Margaret Clark is the speaker scheduled for Oct. 7 beginning at 7 p.m. Then, on Oct. 8, the Rev. Kathy Bryson will be the speaker beginning at 7 p.m. The Rev. John E. Brown is pastor of Mt. Olive Church.

 

Belvidere First Baptist Church is hosting a Good Old Smoky Mountain Revival beginning on Sunday, Oct. 6. Speakers are Bro. Gerald Lynn from East Tennessee and Bro. Carl Tucker. Belvidere FBC’s new pastor, Bro. Ron Ellis, wants to start with a good old-fashioned revival. There will be special singing nightly. Everyone is welcome. Worship services are Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. evening services. The revival will begin the remaining nights at 7 p.m. each evening.

Mt. Olive Church will have Family & Friends Day on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Gregory Robinson is the featured speaker. Everyone is welcome. The Rev. John E. Brown, Sr., is pastor of Mt. Olive Church.

 

Life Chain, in defense of unborn babies, will be held Sunday, Oct. 13, from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. along Main Street in Fayetteville. The chain will begin at Main Street near the Lincoln County Courthouse and extend to the Patrick Rehab Wellness Center. Participants are asked to meet at these places around 2:15 p.m. Signs will be provided. Organizers say participants will stand in Jesus’ name.

 

Christian Fellowship Baptist Church is hosting a Homecoming Singing on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 1:30 p.m. Featured singers are Bro. Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Sunday School Day on Oct. 13. The 11 a.m. speaker will be Minister Kathy Brown, District Missionary of the Elk River District Missionary Baptist Association of Middle Tennessee. Pastor Craig Carmichael is pastor of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

 

The 9th Annual Benefit Gospel Singing for the Freewill Baptist Children’s Home of Eldridge, Ala., will be held at Friendship Stateline Freewill Baptist Church on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. Marvin Morrow of Cypress Inn and Denise Hopkins-Jaco of Toney, Ala., will present special singing.  A special offering will be received during the singing. All proceeds will go towards benefiting the Children’s Home. A buffet supper will be served from 5 until 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 13363 Stateline Road, Taft.

 

Mt. Olive Church is hosting a Fellowship Service on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Jeremy Wells and Indian Creek will be at the church for the service. The Rev. John E. Brown, Sr., is pastor of Mt. Olive Church. Everyone is welcome.

 

Gum Springs Missionary Baptist Church is hosting a gospel singing on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 1:30 p.m. The featured singer is Denise Hopkins-Jaco of Toney, Ala. The church is located on Highway 64 East of Fayetteville.
