Doug Armstrong, 57, of Hazel Green, Ala., a native of Lincoln County, died Tuesday (Sept. 17, 2013) at Huntsville Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Elmer Alverson officiating. Burial followed in Concord Cemetery. Emogene Davis, 83, a resident of Ardmore and a homemaker, died Friday (Sept. 20, 2013) at Lincoln Medical Center. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. in Hendersonville Memory Gardens in Hendersonville with Bro. Derrick Moose officiating. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is serving the family.
Donald Bennett Massey, 72, of Taft, died Thursday (Sept. 19, 2013) at Lincoln Skill Care Center. He was born Monday, Aug. 11, 1941 in Taft, the son of Zana Berryhill Massey and the late William Massey. He was an avid Alabama football fan and a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He was a dedicated father and grandfather and loved people. In addition to his father, his wife, Frances Faye Hendrix Massey, also preceded him in death. In addition to his mother, survivors are one son, Joel (Teresa) Massey of Taft, a brother, Dennis (Marsha) Massey of Park City, and two grandchildren, Brian Massey and Nathan (Amber) Massey. Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Ala., with Bro. Bobby Bates officiating. Burial was in Blanche Cemetery. Jean Moore, 75, a resident of Belvidere and an LPN, died Thursday (Sept. 19, 2013) in Winchester. Donnie R. Roland, 59, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday (Sept. 17, 2013) at Lincoln Medical Center. He was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 27, 1954 to the late Uldean Mills Roland and Roy Roland, who survives. He worked as a tree trimmer and was a member of the Holiness Church of God. Mr. Roland is survived by his father, Roy and Reba Roland of Fayetteville; sisters, Brenda and Willard Howell of Fayetteville, Shelia and Carl O’Neal of Scottsboro, Ala., and Deborah Stilwell and Steve Reeve of Fayetteville; nieces, Tracy Smith, Amanda Sawyers, Brittany Stilwell, and Tonya O’Neal; nephews, Chris Sawyers, Corey O’Neal, Jonathan O’Neal; and caregiver, Vickie Pitts. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bros. Sonny Moore and James Holt officiating. Burial followed in Lebanon Cemetery.
