Home Place Quilt Block on display
Just one-mile off Highway 64 West of Fayetteville on McBurg-Dellrose Road you can view the barn quilt block made by Glenn and JoAnn Buford.
The eight-foot by eight-foot block was inspired by a quilt called “Pansy Park” which JoAnn had made 10 years ago. Glenn drew the pattern on two four-foot by eight-foot panels and JoAnn painted it.
The Home Place Farm was established in 1821 and has been in JoAnn’s family for 192 years, except for a brief period when her grandmother, Dura Lee Malone, had to sell the farm to pay taxes. JoAnn’s father, Joe Malone, bought the farm, and it has remained in the family ever since.
JoAnn loves to quilt, and when she is not quilting, JoAnn is helping Glenn run their 150-acre farm.
