Obituaries for Sept. 4 edition

Carl Albert Bauer, 86, and Frances Bauer, 80, both of Ardmore, Ala., died Tuesday (Aug. 27, 2013) in Park City. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jon Ives officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Prospect. Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Fredrick Phillip Eckstein, 53, of Elkmont, Ala., died Thursday (Aug. 29, 2013) at Huntsville Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Bros. Kasey Harbin and Doug Colwell officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery. Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Clara “Foxie” Griffin Hughes, 93, of Fayetteville, died Saturday morning (Aug. 31, 2013) in Huntsville Hospital. Mrs. Hughes was a native of Giles County, the daughter of the late Jenaro Clark and Mclara Adra Cambell Griffin. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Marvin Leon Hughes; sons, Jeffery Leon Hughes of Elora, Anthony Forrest Hughes and wife, Gayle, of Taft, George Barnett of Norfolk, Va.; step-daughters, Carolyn Faye Hughes of Meridianville, Ala., Beverly Joy Hughes of Cookeville; sister, Marjorie Carpenter of Chattanooga; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Frances Jackson, 74, of Fayetteville, died Saturday (Aug. 31, 2013) at Huntsville Hospital. She was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 23, 1939 to the late Harvey L. and Vernie Pirtle Patterson. She worked for a computer manufacturing company and was a member of Coldwater United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Jackson; sisters, Martha Lou Patterson, Jessie L. Turner; and brothers, Joe H. Patterson, Jerry W. Patterson. Mrs. Jackson is survived by her daughters, Diane and Chris Vandenberg of Cary, Ill., Lori and Carey Young of Harvest, Ala.; sisters, Marie McConnell, Eva Kent, Daisy Harrison, Linda and Joe Smith, Debra Strzelecki; brothers, Billy and Peggy Patterson, Bobby and Peggy Patterson; sister-in-law, Clara Patterson; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Pastor George Turke officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Hills Cemetery. Visitation is set for Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Eleanor B. Parks (Elnora), 75, of Fayetteville, died Friday (Aug. 30, 2013) at her residence. She was born in Nashville on Jan. 30, 1938 to the late Gordon Braden and Virginia Robertson. She was a supervisor for Blue Ridge Manufacturing and Lee Jeans and later worked at Eagle Snacks until her retirement. She was a member of The Market Street Church of God in Fayetteville. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one daughter, Sara Allison. Mrs. Parks is survived by her husband, Leon H. Parks, Jr.; daughters, Maxine (Russell) Hickerson of Tullahoma and Kim Shanta Alexander of Lewisburg; sons, Matthew (Regina) Harris, Jr., of Birmingham, Ala., Tony (Michelle) Parks of Memphis; grandchildren, Derrico (Kim) Harris, Christy Harris, Jeki (Anthony) Potts, Marketta Harris, JuQeta Harris, Ontonnio Hickerson, Adriana O’Neal, Justin O’Neal, Bryson Alexander, Gabriel Parks; sisters, Peggy Fitzgerald of Dallas, Texas, Ivory Alexander of Lewisburg, Sara M. Johnson of Shelbyville, Burnice (Larry) Bellanfant of Culleoka, Ruhami Fisher of Nashville; 14 great-grandchildren; special cousins, Agnes Scott, Ronald Tucker of Nashville, John Tucker of Baltimore, Md.; special friends, June Askins of Nashville, Beverly Farris and Sue Goodrich of Lewisburg; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Annie Robinson, 91, of Flintville, died Friday (Aug. 30, 2013) at Donalson Care Center. She was born in Madison County, Ala., on Dec. 8, 1921 to the late Mack and Bessie Kirby Wilson. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Garfield T. Robinson, and brother, James Wilson. Mrs. Robinson is survived by her son, Glenn and Judy Robinson of Flintville; sisters, Ovie Lasater and Belle Hicks of Hazel Green, Ala.; brother, Wade Wilson of Hazel Green, Ala.; grandchildren, Renai R. Johnson and Jann R. and Terry Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Ethan Johnson, Chelsea Johnson, Kristen Mitchell, Kayla M. and Steven Goolsby; and great-great-grandchild, Journi Rae Goolsby. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Milton Martin and Benny Berry officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
