Tickets sell for Pasta Premier
The 13th Annual Pasta Premier fundraiser for the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Museum will be held Thursday, Aug. 8, in the museum’s auditorium.
Social is from 6-7 p.m., dinner 7-8 p.m. and Carriage House Players’ entertainment at 8 p.m. A silent auction will be held between 6-8 p.m. Debra Quarles will be playing piano during the social hour, and Angie’s Catering will be cooking up a delicious Italian dinner, said Marie Caldwell, president of the museum association’s board of directors.
Celebrity Waiters this year will include state Rep. Bill Spivey, Register of Deeds Randy Delap; Trustee Mary Jane Porter; Tax Assessor Paul Braden; Ricky Kimbrough of USBank; John Karby of Edward Jones; Sandra Arnold of CB&S Bank; Bill Marsh, chairman of the board and CEO of First Commerce Bank; Sheriff Murray Blackwelder; Justin Harwell, Steve Cheatham and Hayes Ellett of the Bank of Lincoln County; Jason Nix from First National Bank; Claudette Gibson, Regions Bank; bartender Matt Randolph; and Sheila Boscio, Carriage Chevrolet. Also assisting will be Jennifer Snoddy and her FFA group.
The Carriage House Players will perform at 8 p.m. The first skit titled, “The Committee” by Janice Fronczak, will feature Sarah Jo Pierce, Andrea Delap, Angie Beyer, Sharon Williams and Donna Hartman. The second skit, “Party of Three” by Theresa Sherwood, will be performed by Kim Gray, Holly Gray, Jim Philips, Donna Hartman and Carla Kelley.
During the evening this year, Stone Bridge Garden Club will be honored. The Stone Bridge Garden Club was organized in February of 1964, a sister club of the Fayetteville Garden Club. Presently, club members maintain three landscaping ventures in the community: the courtyard at the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Museum, flower beds in front of the Visitors’ Center at Stone Bridge Park, and flower beds at the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Public Library.
“This has been a particularly bad year for the Museum,” said Mrs. Caldwell, “with all the rain we have had, numerous leaks have developed in Carter Hall, storage areas, the agricultural section and in the military room. We have always had a problem with small leaks, but this year it seems every day a new leak developed somewhere. In fact we were not able to open the Museum the first of May due to the need for roof repairs, so this year we are especially appreciative of those who buy tickets and the many businesses and individuals who donate items for the silent auction. We already know the money raised will help with roof repairs.”
Tickets are $50 each and may be purchased from LaGay Horton, Bank of Lincoln County, Park City Branch, Heather McCormick, First National Bank, Park City, or any board member. Board members are Jim Harwell, Mark Mitchell, Wanda Morrison, Delbert Wicks, Patty Patrick, Farris Beasley, Sandy Law, Kay Woods, Patricia Hopper, Bob Stidfole and Mrs. Caldwell.
“I will be glad to deliver tickets if called,” she said, noting that her home number is (931) 433-7504. “Tickets always go very quickly, and we will only have 150 to sell. Several people called me last year the week before Pasta Premier, and we just did not have any left. I encourage anyone who wants to attend to get your tickets early.”
The Museum is open from May through the weekend of Host of Christmas Past in November and staffed entirely by volunteers and board members. Jackie Hamlin with the RSV program at South Central Human Resource Agency schedules volunteers who work at the Museum on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
