Taylor leads her first sermon
Minister Regina Taylor receives her license from the Rev. Craig Carmichael. The presentation was made as Taylor led her first service at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church on July 7.
Regina Taylor, who was recently presented her ministerial license by the Rev. Craig Carmichael, led her first sermon on July 7 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
“First of all, I thank God, because he is the author and finisher of our faith, life, and thereafter,” she said. “To all who were present in Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, all the pastors and ministers, as well as our church members and the members of other churches in town and out of town, and family, friends and classmates.”
Taylor’s sermon, “It Matters Whose Hands That You Put Things Into”, focused on Romans 8:28. The opening song for the sermon was “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”, and the closing song was “All The Way”.
The new minister expressed her appreciation to Carmichael, saying, “Thank you for your honesty and pastoral diligence.
“Again, to the congregation, your presence was heartfelt and greatly appreciated,” she continued. “All prayers, cards, well wishes, monetary support, food preparation, choir singing, usher support, deacon support, phone calls, and everything was well received.
“I am cognizant that people’s time is precious and people don’t have to do anything, but I’m thankful for everything that was done.”
