Religion for July 24 edition

The Ark Church is sponsoring its annual Vacation Bible School for children ages four and up on July 24, 25 and 26 from 6 until 8 p.m. at 303 Morgan Avenue South, Fayetteville. This year’s theme is “God’s Greatness, Authority and Love!” There will be games, and lots of fun. Food will be served each night. Apostolic Lighthouse of Jesus will hold a revival featuring Bro. Clint Barnes on Friday, July 26, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, July 27, at 6 p.m. The church is located at 201 Flintville Road in Flintville.

 

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 140th church anniversary on Sunday, July 28. The message will be presented by Moderator Elmore Tolbert, pastor of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Tullahoma.  Sunday School starts at 9:30 a.m. and worship services begin at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome. Friendship Southern Baptist Church is hosting a gospel singing and Cajun chicken dinner on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 6 p.m. Featured singers are “The Glory Echoes” and “Two or Three” with Andy Shelton, Wayne Thornton and Tim Scott.  The Cajun chicken dinner begins at 4 p.m. and is $8 per plate. This includes chicken, slaw, baked beans, bread, drink and dessert. A love offering will be taken at the singing, and all proceeds go to the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home in Brentwood. Cash Point’s Annual Summer Festival will be held Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Cash Point Baptist Church. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, soft drinks and homemade ice cream will be served. There will be games, bingo, water slides and door prizes. Everyone is encouraged to bring yard chairs and join the fun. The church is located at intersection of Highway 110 and Asa Smith Road. “Fill My Cup” Women’s Conference at Elkton Baptist Church is Saturday, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Jo Carwile, featured guest speaker, is from Valley View Church, Louisville, Ky. Hear the Four Gospels preached on Sunday, Aug. 18, at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church at 3 p.m.  The Gospels are on the life of Jesus according to Matthew, presented by Pastor Maurice Pugh; Mark, presented by Pastor Earnest Wayne Jones; Luke, presented by Pastor Phillip Buchanan; and John, with Minister Lonnie Edmiston.
