Towry, Towery family holds national reunion

Towry, Towery national reunion --

Local Towry family members pause for a photo during the recent Towry/Towery National Reunion held in Asheville, N.C. There are more than 600 Towry cousins living in Lincoln County at last count. Cousins are encouraged to attend the next reunion in Texas in 2015.

The Towry/Towery National Family Reunion was held June 6-8 in Asheville, N.C.

Juanita Winford Towry, widow of W. Smith Towry, and her children were in attendance.

Lincoln County family members, Faye Towry McNabb of Ringgold, Ga., Dean Towry of the Kirkland Community, Joan Towry Frassrand of the Howell Hill Community, Lynn Towry Brown of Mulberry and Jane Towry Ogle of the Vanntown Community, were in attendance.

Local family members were joined by Towry cousins from around the globe, attending from virtually every state in the United States, stretching across the ocean to England.

The National Reunion is held every two years. In 2015, it will be held in Fort Worth, Texas. The family would like to see more attendees from Lincoln County and the surrounding counties at the 2015 reunion. There are more than 600 Towry/Towery cousins living in Lincoln County at last count. Cousins are asked to make your plans to attend The Towry/Towery Family Reunion in 2015 in Texas.
