THP sets roadside safety checkpoints
The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting driver license roadside safety checkpoints during the week of July 4 on State Route 231 at 20.5 mile marker starting at 7 p.m.
During the week of July 17, a checkpoint will be on U.S. Highway 431 at 2.6 mile marker beginning at 1 p.m.
During the week of July 24 beginning at 8 p.m., THP will have a checkpoint on State Route 50 at the 15.8 mile marker.
Recognizing the danger presented to the public by unqualified drivers, troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by drivers who violate the driver license laws of Tennessee.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol has found these driver license roadside safety checkpoints to be an effective means of enforcing driver license laws of Tennessee while ensuring the protection of all motorists.
