Blueberry patch artLincoln County 4-H was recently gifted a blueberry patch to raise funds for the youth organization.

The owner of the former Russell Farm at 1209 Ardmore Highway in Taft contacted Dan Owen, local 4-H extension agent, in the early spring to offer the blueberry patch as a possible fundraiser for Lincoln County 4-H.

After some research and discussion with the 4-H Honor Club members, Owen took him up on the offer.

The patch is now being tended by Lincoln County 4-H members and volunteers.

It should open for “U-Pick” in late June or early July. Prices have been set at $2 per pint or $4 per quart. Open hours will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.; Thursday, 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, 7:30 a.m. until 12 noon.

For more information, please call the extension office at (931) 433-1582 or check the Lincoln County Extension Facebook page.
