Coaching new standards

Common CoreSarah Beth Spray, a Lincoln County teacher and now Common Core coach, addresses area teachers Tuesday at Lincoln County High School during the Tennessee Department of Education’s launch of the largest ever teacher training focused on implementation of the Common Core State Standards in math and English. More than 32,000 Tennessee teachers will participate in Common Core voluntary training in 17 different locations over the course of six weeks. Spray is among 700 Core coaches appointed by the state department to guide their peers as they learn more about the new standards adopted by Tennessee.
