Thomas Daniel Adcock, 77, of Toney, Ala., died Saturday (June 22, 2013) at his home in Toney. Funeral services were held Monday morning at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Ala., with Bros. Tony Boyles, Cecil Norman and Doug Colwell officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, Ala. Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Jimmy Dale Blankenship, 64, a resident of Elkton and a machinist, died Monday (June 17, 2013) at Hillside Hospital. Graveside services were held Thursday in Higgins Cemetery in Limestone County, Ala., with Bro. Timmy Hunt officiating. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Rena Mae Brown, 89, of Toney, Ala., died Thursday (June 20, 2013) at her home. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Ala. with Dr. Ray Stonecypher officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, Ala. Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Shelba Jean Mahaffey,  76, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday (June 19, 2013) at Huntsville Hospital. She was born in South Carolina on March 30, 1937 to the late Burris Franklin and Mary Lucille Carmen Sherman. She was retried from Amana Refrigeration and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death her daughter, Kimberly Spurr. Mrs. Mahaffey is survived by her husband, Newman Petty of Fayetteville; daughters, Didre and Randy Smith of Ardmore, Ala., Ann and Barry Redding of Flintville, Tracy and Mike of Shelbyville, Sina and Fernando Mahaffey of Athens, Ala., Carol and Kenneth Wilson of Birmingham, Ala.; son, Barry and Diane Johnson of North Carolina; sister, Linda Holiday of Newnan, Ga.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Private graveside services were held in Campbell Cemetery. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Betty Mastalski, 88, of Fayetteville, died Saturday (June 22, 2013) at her residence. Mrs. Mastalski was a native of Connersville, Ind., the daughter of the late Holland and Clara Cox Peaslee. She was a homemaker and member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Survivors include her daughter, Janet Mastalski Petrina of Fayetteville; sons, John Holland of Beech Grove and Joseph Mastalski of Mt. Clemons, Mich.; brother, Jack Peaslee of California; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Mrs. Mastalski was preceded in death by her husband, John David Mastalski; son, James Clayton Mastalski; brother, Bill Peaslee; and sisters, Eleanor Hampton and Virginia McQuinley. Memorial service will be conducted Friday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church with The Rev. George Panthananickel, C.M.I., officiating. Higgins Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Leon Morrison, 80, of Mulberry, died Tuesday (June 18, 2013) at Huntsville Hospital. He was born in Lincoln County on June 30, 1932 to the late William Holbert and Martha Ann “Parrott” Walker Morrison. He was a master plumber and of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Coline Williams and Durah Gardner, and brothers, Joshua, Woodrow, Elbert, J.B. and Franklin Morrison. Mr. Morrison is survived by wife, Jannie B. Simmons Morrison of Hazel Green, Ala.; daughter, Teresa & Ron Jones of Farragut; son, Lonnie L. and Tammie Morrison of Mulberry; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Walden and Christina, Nathan Walden, Anton Jones, Hunter Morrison, Ashley and J.C. Mann, Brandi Talley, Brandy Wolfe; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday morning in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Malcolm Gardner officiating. Burial followed in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Harriet Janette Osgood, 84, a homemaker and resident of Fayetteville, died Sunday (June 23, 2013) at Lincoln Care Center. No services are planned at this time. Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Henry Thomas “Shorty” Parkerson, 40, of Ardmore, Ala., died Tuesday (June 18, 2013). He was born in Franklin County on Feb. 9, 1973. He was a service tech at H&H Spas in Decatur and was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. Mr. Parkerson is survived by his daughter, Melry Mai Parkerson of Paint Rock, Ala.; mother, Opal Hickman of Winchester; father, Donald and Patty Parkerson of Lewisburg; brother, Ross and Lisa Parkerson of Tullahoma; grandmother, Jessie Harris; fiancée, Robinn Strange of Ardmore, Ala.; step-brothers, Jeff and Brandy McElroy of Hermitage and Travis and Reina McElroy of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; several aunts, uncles, niece, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held on Saturday morning in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Lucas officiating. Burial followed in Elora Cemetery. Clara Marie Roland, 80, of Fayetteville, died Monday (June 17, 2013) at Donalson Care Center. She was born in Lincoln County on July 19, 1932 to the late Tillman and Ollie Williams Towry. She was a greeter at Walmart for 25 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Earl Roland; sisters, Evelyn Towry, Peggy Phillips, Carolyn Hornbuckle, Lorene Childress; and brothers, Clyde Towry, Virgil Towry, Garner Towry, Orville Towry, Wilford Towry. Mrs. Roland is survived by daughters, Diane and Ray Simmons and Barbara Roland; son, Marvin and Diane Roland; brothers, Thomas and Ethyl Towry, Wade and Connie Towry, Dallas and Hazel Towry, Cletus Towry; three grandchildren, Kevin and Janet Roland, Tracy and Teresa Simmons, Mark and Sue Simmons; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Terri Lynn Clark Scott, 49, of Elkmont, Ala., died Sunday (June 16, 2013) at Athens-Limestone Hospital in Athens, Ala. Graveside services were held Wednesday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Bro. Amos Conley officiating. Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

James Harrison “Whim” Whitaker, 72, of Fayetteville, died Monday (June 17, 2013) at Lincoln Medical Center. He was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 27, 1940 to the late Jack and Maxie Mae Landers Whitaker. He was a brick mason and was a member of West Fayetteville Church of Christ. Mr. Whitaker is survived by daughters, Renee and Claude Whitaker, Angie Summers, Tracey Summers; sons, Eric Summers, Wayne Summers, Christopher Summers; brothers, David Lee and Nellie Whitaker, Billy Joe and Ella Whitaker; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Don Wallace, Craig Carmichael, Stinson Knott and Brenda Bass officiating.
