Firecracker Chase returns to city

Firecracker Chase logoFayetteville Parks and Recreation Department is bringing back the Fayetteville Firecracker Chase after a hiatus of over 20 years.

The event, set for Saturday, June 29, will feature a 10.2-mile and 5k race.  A one-mile fun run will also be held.

Age group awards for both male and female for first, second and third places will be given as well as overall male and female winners in both the 5k and 10.2-mile race.  The first 100 individuals who finish the 10.2-mile race will receive a custom finisher’s medal.

All runners registered by June 22 will receive a Firecracker Chase technical shirt.

The event will get underway at 7 a.m. on June 29. The start and finish will be at Fayetteville Recreation Department at 1203 Winchester Hwy. Post-race food will be served near the finish line for registered runners.
