Benefit for Stone family set June 21

A benefit supper and auction for Lucas, Alex and Lilly-Grace Stone will be held Friday, June 21, at Elora Community Center.

Proceeds from the benefit will help the family with medical expenses.

Supper will be served from 5 until 7 p.m. Supper plates are $7 each and consist of spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and a drink.

An auction will be held at 7 p.m.

Lilly-Grace Stone is a surviving twin, born March 16, 2013, six weeks early. Her sister, Ainsley Pearl, did not survive a later surgery to correct twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. The twins’ mother, who suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum and a thyroid problem during the difficult pregnancy, spent much of her pregnancy on bed rest or visiting doctors in Huntsville and Birmingham. She spent the last three weeks of her pregnancy in the hospital.

Lilly-Grace spent two and a half weeks in the NICU before getting to come home on Easter Sunday.

The Stone family has accumulated a number of medical expenses throughout the pregnancy and births of their twins. You can help the family out by participating in the benefit supper and auction.
