CHP plans drama camps for kids, teens

comedy, dramaCarriage House Players is planning its second year of drama camp.

This year, the organization will hold two camps divided into separate age groups. The first camp, Drama Camp 1, will be June 10-14 for ages 8-11 from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. at the Lincoln County Museum Complex. The cost of the camp is $30, and you may pay on Monday, June 10.

In Drama Camp 1, the Players will work on team exercises and basic stage direction and character building. To sign up for Drama Camp 1, call Brenda at 931-703-1129 or email bmwchp@gmail.com.

Drama Camp 2, for ages 12 to 17, will be June 24-28 from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. at the Lincoln County Museum Complex. The cost of this camp is $30, and you may pay on Monday, June 20.

In Drama Camp 2, CHP will again work on team exercises, character building and stage direction, but Players will be adding basic lighting and set construction. To sign up for Drama Camp 2, call Brenda at 931-703-1129 or email bmwchp@gmail.com.

“We had such a successful drama camp last year that we couldn’t wait to plan for this year,” said Mickey Johnson, camp coordinator. “We had kids of all ages, and they worked well together, but we thought that we could make it a great camp if we split up the ages. That way, our older drama students can learn more behind the scenes, technical side.”
