Memorial Day service slated

U.S. FlagLincoln County’s Memorial Day Service will be held on the Courthouse lawn in downtown Fayetteville on Monday, May 27, beginning at 11 a.m.

Featured speakers are Joe Pendergrass, veteran, and Addie Hodges, regent, Kings Mountain Messenger Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.

Additionally, County Mayor Peggy Bevels and City Mayor John Ed Underwood will be on hand.

Additional comments and invocation will be provided by Lewis Curtis, VFW chaplain, and Dr. James Armitage, American Legion chaplain.

Steve Weber is the emcee for the event, and Wanda Tate will sing the National Anthem and the Battle Hymn of the Republic.
