Janie Peery, daughter of Nathan and Elizabeth Peery, has been chosen the June Dairy Month chairman for Lincoln County for 2013.
June Dairy Month activities are designed to communicate the value of milk and dairy products to the community.
Janie is very active in 4-H. Projects she is involved in include beef, dairy judging, livestock judging, public speaking, Exchange Club, and Honor Club. She placed second in dairy judging and livestock judging and first in public speaking at regional competition.
She will be a senior next year at Lincoln County High School, and she attends New Prospect Baptist Church and serves as secretary of the FFA.
“We wish Janie much success in her role of communicating the nutritional benefits of milk and dairy products to the people in Fayetteville,” said Randy Davis, president of American Dairy Association of Tennessee. “Janie will appreciate the cooperation of the people there. Her interest and enthusiasm will result in a better informed community from which all will benefit.”
