Faith activities for May 15 edition

Friendship Stateline Freewill Baptist Church’s revival is continuing through Friday, May 17. Services are held at 7 p.m. each evening. The evangelist will be Cecil Farmer, pastor of Liberty Freewill Baptist in Norton, Ohio. Special singing groups for the remainder of the week are the Ables Family on May 15, Teresa Billions on May 16, and Russell Price on May 17. Friendship is located at 13363 Stateline Road in Taft. Decoration and business meeting for Bethel Cemetery will be held Saturday, May 18, at 10 a.m. Donations may be made to Mrs. Betty English, 12 Letha Thompson Road, Fayetteville, Tenn., 37334.

 

New Life Heart to Heart Church will host a Gospel Singing at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, featuring Masters Way. The church is at 1922 Wilson Parkway, Fayetteville. For information, call (931) 993-8920.

 

Aspen Hill – Dellrose — Shiloh United Methodist Charge will have its annual Homecoming and Decoration Day services at 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, at Shiloh United Methodist Church on Old Elkton Pike in the Hot Rock community. United Methodist lay speaker Ben Luna will bring the message. A lifelong member of the United Methodist, he was called to the ministry at the age of 15. He is also a radio and television weather newscaster. Jason Simpson of Pulaski will serve as guest pianist, performing “Mariah”. A fellowship luncheon will follow the service. Contributions to the Shiloh Cemetery Association are welcome on Saturday and Sunday at the cemetery. Aspen Hill will hold worship services at 9 a.m. with Bible study at 10 a.m. for the day, as the congregations celebrate Pentecost Sunday, commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples of Christ.

 

Decoration Services at Talley Cemetery on Delina Road, Petersburg, will be held on Sunday, May 19, at 2 p.m. Sid Dye will be the speaker, and Corey Smith will be the song leader.  Donations for the upkeep of the cemetery will be accepted there during Decoration weekend or may be mailed to the treasurer, Joyce Franklin Burns, 6969 Delina Road, Petersburg, TN, 37144.

 

A barbecue fundraiser will be held by the men of St. Paul AME Church on Saturday, May 25, at 10 a.m. at the church, 521 College Street West in Fayetteville.  Purchase chicken dinners for $10, rib plates for $10 or pulled pork dinners for $8. Meat orders can be placed by Friday, May 17, at 4 p.m. for Boston butts at $30; slab of ribs, $25; or pork shoulder, $25. Proceeds benefit the church’s building fund and fellowship hall. St. Paul AME Church will host a Gospel Concert will be held Sunday, May 26, beginning at 4 p.m. and featuring Booker Ridge #2 Choir and Praise Team as well as Wanda Tate and men of Fayetteville. The church is at 521 West College Street, Fayetteville.

 

Bledsoe (Po-Grab) Church of Christ will hold a Gospel Meeting May 26-29 with Ralph Wayne Hart as the speaker and Charles Gatlin as the song leader. Sunday services are at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Lunch served at noon. Evening services are at 7 p.m.

 

Lincoln Cemetery Decoration Day will be held Sunday, June 2.

 

Coldwater United Methodist Church invites all children to step right up at “Everywhere Fun Fair: Where God’s World Comes Together” Vacation Bible School. Explore and experience God’s welcoming love. The VBS begins Monday, June 3, and continues through Friday, June 7, with services 6-8:30 p.m. each evening. The adventure includes interactive Bible fun and great music, super science, cool crafts, hands-on mission work, global games, and more. Regina Taylor will give her first sermon at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, June 9, beginning at 11 a.m. Craig Carmichael is the church’s pastor.
