Woodlee, former town alderman, dies

Norma Woodlee of Petersburg, a former town alderman and local businesswoman, died Wednesday (April 24, 2013) at her residence. She was 73.

She was born in Marshall County on Feb. 29, 1940 to the late R.L and Louise Wright Beard.

Mrs. Woodlee was employed at Inter-City Products and later owned Petersburg Flower Shop. She was a former Petersburg alderman and a member of Lone Oak Church of Christ.

Mrs. Woodlee is survived by her daughter, Teresa Knighten of Petersburg; son, James Richard Wilkes of Petersburg; brother, Jimmy Beard of Monrovia, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday morning in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Callahan officiating. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery.

Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home assisted the family.
