Those in attendance were the 2012-2013 Youth Leadership Class and their families, members of this year’s Adult Leadership Class and Board Members of Leadership Lincoln. This year’s guest speaker was Mike Wetherington, owner and president of American Development Corporation here in Fayetteville. Wetherington spoke to the group on the importance of Leadership.

Each year, the Youth Leadership Program awards two $250 scholarships to participants who have completed all the requirements for the Leadership Class. The two scholarships are named in the memory of Fredna June Smith and Carl Maroney, two of the pioneers of Leadership Lincoln. As an added gesture, ADC donated four additional scholarships at this year’s graduation.

The recipients of the scholarships were as follows: Katelyn Eakes, Fredna June Smith Memorial Scholarship; Matthew Posey, Carl Maroney Memorial Scholarship; and Clay Marsh, Andrew Howell, Katie Mooney and Meghan Sullenger, ADC scholarships.
