Carriage House Players’ production of Pride & Prejudice is in its final weekend at the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Museum and Civic Center.
Based on the classic novel by Jane Austen and adapted by Joseph Hanreddy and J.R. Sullivan, Pride & Prejudice is the second production of the 26th season. The final three performances are May 2, 3 & 4 at 7 p.m. An English tea will be served before the performance.
Pride & Prejudice is Jane Austen’s classic tale of love and values that unfold in Regency Era England. The five Bennet sisters have been raised by their mother with one purpose in life: to find a single man in possession of a large fortune. When a wealthy bachelor takes up residence in a nearby mansion, the Bennets are abuzz. Given his elite status and connections, surely there will be no shortage of suitors for the Bennet sisters. But when strong-willed Elizabeth meets up with the handsome and, it would seem, proud Mr. Darcy, the conflict is electric.
Pride & Prejudice marks the directing debut of Truman J Carroll who is assisted by Andrea Delap, Sonia Bradford and Haley Fitch. Jennifer Carroll directed the choreography. Katie Campbell stars as Elizabeth Bennet and Jonathan Lamb plays proud Mr. Darcy.
Also staring in Pride and Prejudice are Jim Philips, Valeri Buck, Mahalie Todd, Tori Buck, Miriam Sparks, Erin Young, Allie Ruhlander, Brendan Buxton, Laura Spears, Heath Jacks, Jordan Stair, Angela Steelman, Erin Alcorn, David Grant, Robin Mitchell, Haley Hicks, Briana Kimbrough, Lonnie Ables, Tina Beddingfield, Deborah Chaplin, Andrew Neal, Calvin Alcorn, Kate Parkes, Victoria Chaplin and Sherie Jacks.
Tickets are available at Bagley and Bagley Insurance, The Book Inn, Carter’s Drug Store, Elk River Coffee Company, The Flower House, Parks Jewelers and Sissy’s Antiques in Fayetteville, as well as Regions Bank in Parks City.
