NWTF chapter holds banquet
Murray Bartlett, present of the Elk Valley Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, presents Makinsie Gault with a $500 scholarship on behalf of the local chapter.
County Mayor Peggy Bevels, on behalf of the Lincoln County Courthouse officials, presented Jason Barefoot of Cunningham with a membership in the National Wild Turkey Federation. The Elk Valley Chapter hosted Jason, a wounded veteran, and his family to a weekend in Lincoln County where Jason enjoyed several guided turkey hunts.
Brandy Bartlett was the winner of a Veterans Gun at the local NWTF Hunting Heritage Banquet. All veterans were honored, and the gun was presented by Stan Spray in memory of his father, Butch Spray. Clayton and Lynn Brown (far left) were the 2013 recipients of the Dane Evers Volunteer Award given at the NWTF Banquet. The award is presented each year by the family of Dan Evers to highlight volunteers who exhibit outstanding service to the local Chapter.
