LCHS tennis teams sweep Franklin Co.

Lincoln County High School’s Falcon and Lady Falcon tennis teams both picked up district wins last week at home over Franklin County.
The boys won, 7-0; the girls took the win, 6-1.
In the Falcons’ singles action, Daniel Selfridge won, 8-5. Matthew Posey finished on top, 8-2. Barrett Wright took the win, 8-3, Patrick Scott won, 8-2, Brian Shouse finished on top, 8-1, Blaze Harrell won, 8-2.
In doubles play, Posey/Selfridge took the win, 8-3, and Shouse/Plunkett won, 8-1.
In the Lady Falcons’ singles action, Morgan Helums won, 8-2. Chelsi Wheat finished on top 8-1. Hanna Counts went down, 8-6. Lauren Gower took the win, 8-0. Jasmine Bello won, 8-1.
Doubles play saw Wheat/Gower win 8-1, and Sarah Watson/Bell Beddingfield win, 8-6.

In JV play, Ashley Atkinson won 6-2. Allie Bridge/Hayle McGee won 6-1. Jessica Pearson/Allie Perez won 4-3.
On Tuesday of this week, LCHS was to travel to Lawrence County for a make-up game, then host Coffee County on Wednesday starting at 4 p.m.
District tournament action gets underway Thursday and Friday in Shelbyville.
