Fayetteville High School’s Tigers went down to Eagleville in both games of the series last week.
On Monday, FHS went down on the road, 4-1. Tuesday, the Eagles finished on top, 6-1.
Tuesday, it was knotted at 1-1 after the fifth inning, but the Eagles added 3 in the sixth and 2 in the seventh to finish with the win.
Ryan Yates went the distance, giving up 6 runs, 4 earned, off 10 hits, 3 walks and 3 strikeouts.
The Tigers had one hit with Darrion King having a double. King scored the run for FHS with an RBI bunt by Will Clark.
Fayetteville had two errors.
Monday, the Eagles scored 1 in the first, third, fourth and fifth. The run for the Tigers came 1 in the fifth.
Jacob Pigg went 5 innings, giving up 4 runs, none earned, off 4 hits, 3 walks and 2 strikeouts.
Donovan Potts went 3 innings, giving up 1 hit and no runs.
The Tigers had 2 hits with singles from Matt Taylor and Cole Roland.
FHS finished with 4 errors.
On Monday of this week, the Tigers were to travel to Moore County, then host the Raiders on Tuesday starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, FHS hosts Middle Tennessee Christian starting at 2 p.m. Home games are played at Don Davidson Park.
