“The goal of this event was to increase college and career awareness in our students and provide information they can use to help them become college and/or career ready post-graduation,” said Andrea Brewer, college and career counselor at Fayetteville High School.
Students attended eight different sessions throughout the day. Session topics included The College Application Process; Choosing the Right College for YOU!; ACT test taking tips; 2 yr/4 yr/TTC / Military- What’s the difference?; Resume Writing/Interview Skills; Financial Aid; Q & A with current college students or recent graduates; Time to visit with recruiters.
“We heard lots of very positive feedback from the students, staff and parents that attended the event,” said Laura Monks, director of Motlow’s Fayetteville center. “I feel certain this will be an annual event here at our campus as we strive to support the students in our community and their educational or training decisions.”
