Lincoln County Mayor Peggy Bevels, along with other mayors across the country, participated in a national day of recognition of April 9 to highlight the impact of national service in their cities and to thank individuals who serve with the South Central Human Resource Agency’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and the Foster Grandparent Program in Lincoln County.
As the federal agency for service and volunteering, the Corporation for National Service annually engages more than four million citizens in service at more than 70,000 sites across the country through their programs.
Mayor Bevels issued a proclamation on April 9 recognizing the importance of these programs in tackling tough problems and strengthening our community through volunteering.
