On Saturday May 11th, The Farm School in Summertown will host its
annual springtime fundraiser:  a day-long, festival-style event
designed to be safe and fun for all ages.

The Farm School welcomes and encourages all area families to join in the fun and attend their Annual Family Fun Fest.  All-day admission is $15 for adults, with kids free (everyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a
parent or guardian). Attendees are welcome to bring in a cooler with
food and beverages, but no alcohol is allowed.

In addition to serving as a K-12 educational resource for local
families, The Farm School offers an umbrella program for home-based
learners. These Farm School Satellite Campus families from all over
the state of Tennessee have also been invited to spend the day at The
Farm for the Fun Fest. In fact one of the main attractions to the Fun
Fest is the educator’s workshop facilitated by The Farm School
Principal, Dr. Peter Kindfield.

“An educators’ workshop at a family funfest? What’s up with that?”
asks Dr. Kindfield. “At The Farm School we help children learn as they
pursue their bliss. So hosting a workshop designed to help parents
pursue their bliss, helping their children learn, seems as natural as
growing plants in dirt. We welcome all home-based educators to come
play with their fellow adult learners as we explore learning the Farm
School way.”

Festivities are set to begin at Noon on May 11th and will go on into
the evening.  In addition to the educator’s workshop, activities
include: cooperative games and activities facilitated by Farm School
staff; face painting and henna art; live music performances including
an all-ages Talent show; a guided woods walk and tour of the extended
Solar Campus; Community Dinner; food and craft vendors; and a belly
dancing workshop for ages 11 and up. Camping or other overnight
accommodations are available on a limited basis for an additional fee.

Following the afternoon activities, and prior to the evening
entertainment, The Farm School will host a Community Dinner featuring
a delicious vegetarian menu prepared under the guidance of two of The
Farm’s long time Veggie Deli chefs. The kid-friendly menu for the
dinner will feature Pizza, Salad, Tea, and Ice Bean (a dairy-free ice
cream alternative). As always, it is sure to be delicious! Adult
plates: $10, Student plates: $7, Kid plates: $5.

Free parking is provided on site. For registration and more
information go online and visit http://thefarmschool.tv, or call The
