The romance of the rails revolves around legendary steam locomotive engineers such as Casey Jones and the ill fated Steve, who rode to his death in the song Wreck Of The Old 97.

Dixie Line Days, to be held Saturday April 20th at the Walking Horse Hotel in Wartrace, Tenn., presents a rare opportunity to ask questions of a former certified steam locomotive engineer. Tom Knowles piloted a live steam engine for nine years at the Indiana Railroad Museum. He currently makes his home in Cowan, Tenn. where he is curator of the Cowan Railroad Museum and vice president of the Nashville, Chattanooga, and St. Louis Railway (NC&StL) Preservation Society.

Knowles will host a power point presentation on steam locomotives and take questions from the audience about operating live steam during the Dixie Line Lines train show April 20th. For additional information call 615-428-7366 or e-mail contact@thedixieflyer.net.
