Beene wins ‘Best of Show’

Best of Show (1)Reva Beene of the Boonshill Family and Community Education (FCE) Club won best of show honors with her homemade chocolate cake in the FCE’s 13th Annual Sweetheart Cake Bake Contest held at the Ralph Hastings Building auditorium.

Dr. James Deaton at the Center for Physical Medicine was the sponsor of Beene’s cake.

There were 56 cakes baked by FCE and community members, and each cake had a $25 sponsor.

Other winners in each division were as follows: Decorated Cake, Jessica Posey, Dellrose-Hotrock FCE Club; Cake without Frosting, Keele Raymur; Red Velvet Cake, Anita Norman, Molino FCE Club; Yellow Cake, Vicki Ellison, Boonshill FCE Club;

Coconut Cake, Pam Rioux, Flintville FCE Club; Carrot Cake, Sara Barnes, Boonshill FCE Club; German Chocolate, Bonnie Pond, Molino FCE Club; Miscellaneous, Jane Pendergrass, Flintville FCE Club.

All proceeds from the Valentine Cake Bake will be used for community service projects in Lincoln County.
