Friends of Scouting luncheon set April 10

Boy Scout PatchMartin Methodist College is proud to announce that the CEO of the Middle Tennessee Council Boy Scouts of America, Hugh Travis, will be the featured speaker at the Ninth Annual Giles & Lincoln County “Friends of Scouting” Luncheon.

This is a chance for business and community leaders to come together in support of local Scouting programs and the young men they serve.

The fundraiser will be held in the Christian Life Center at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski on Wednesday, April 10, at 11:30 a.m.

As Scout Executive, Hugh Travis oversees Scouting in the 37-county area, serving 47,000 young people and over 8,000 registered volunteer leaders. He began his Scouting career during the 1970s in Pulaski and Fayetteville as a District Executive and since then has served in numerous Scouting positions around the country, including Orlando, Baltimore and Los Angeles.

Hugh is a Distinguished Eagle Scout and holds the God and Country Award. He is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University. He is active with the Nashville Chamber of Commerce, Alignment Nashville and the Nashville Rotary Club.

The Ninth Annual Giles & Lincoln County “Friends of Scouting” luncheon is hosted by Martin Methodist College. Scouting in the local community serves 800 youth members and over 300 adult volunteers in Giles, Lincoln, Lawrence and Wayne counties.
