Music and Lyrics by Dolly Parton
Book by Patricia Resnick
Based on the 20th Century Fox Picture
This musical is about teaming up, getting credit and taking care of business!
(a hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era)
The Arts Center of Cannon County is excited to announce the opening of the Tony and Grammy-nominated show “9 to 5: The Musical” featuring music and lyrics by Dolly Parton. Based on the sensational musical version of the popular 1980 hit movie of the same name, this show is full of laughter and side-splitting Southern sass. Join us for this outrageous story of three unlikely friends who concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss.
9 to 5 is directed by Dr. Darryl Deason with music direction by Robert Hiers and choreography by Lauren Johnson. This show features Arts Center favorite Mary Ellen Smith as Doralee, Annie Clements as Violet and Kerri Kairdolf as Judy. This talented cast also includes Mark Thomas, Allison Barnett, John C. Taylor, Quinton Parnell, Zack Kelby, Julie Wilcox, Melissa Stanley, Noel Clements, Laurie Burger, Susan Higdon, David Campbell, Jonathan Higdon, Lauren Johnson, Erica Adcock, Candi Ford, Matthew Pyles, Jacob Goza and Brad McCrary.
The performance schedule for all shows is Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 with discounts available for students, seniors and groups and may be purchased by calling the Arts Center box office at 615-563-(ARTS) 2787 or 1-800-235-9073. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.artscenterofcc.com. “The Blue Porch @ Arts Center” restaurant is open before all performances.
9 to 5 is sponsored by an anonymous friend and is part of the 2013 Subscriber Series.
