Hunters Ed Course set this month

The Lincoln County Hunter Education Course will be taught March 15-17 at Fayetteville High School by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

Class times are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Students must attend all classes to be certified.

Participants must register online at http://www.state.tn.us/twra/huntered.html before class to reserve a seat.

Class topics include hunter ethics and responsibility, firearm safety, handling and care, modern firearms, muzzleloaders, archery, wildlife identification, tree stand safety, field safety, survival and first aid.

All hunters born on or after Jan. 1, 1969 must complete this course before they hunt in Tennessee. Students must be at least nine years of age to be certified. Parents and non-residents are welcome to take the course. Instructors will include TWRA officers and volunteers.

Everyone must bring their Social Security number and a number two pencil.
