Toddler gets baby brother for birthday
Little Zairyn Gardner received a special gift on his birthday, Feb. 21, a new baby brother named Ariaun. Here, the siblings who share a birthday are pictured with their parents, Corlez Gardner and Mary Walke, and delivering physician, Dr. Teresa Morrison, who said the delivery of a baby on a sibling's birthday is a first in her career.
If you could imagine all the presents that you can receive on your birthday, could you ever imagine having a baby brother as one of those? That is just what happened to Zairyn Gardner on his very first birthday.
Corlez Gardner and Mary Walke gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Ariaun, weighing five pounds, 2.4 ounces, and measuring 17.5 inches in length.
“In all my years, I have never delivered a sibling with the same birthday,” said Dr. Teresa Morrison, delivering physician. “This was definitely a neat experience for me.”
“I only met Dr. Morrison three weeks ago,” explained the baby’s mother, Mary. “I decided to come to Fayetteville from Pulaski to have my baby. Dr. Morrison was wonderful to deal with while changing physicians. I also cannot say enough about how wonderful the LMC OB Department is. The delivery room is so nice, clean, and spacious. This is a very inviting environment for families. The staff did everything they could to make me feel welcome. “
“I am happy that we were able to share in this special day,” said Dr. Morrison. “This was a wonderful family and I am proud they chose Lincoln Medical Center.”
Little Ariaun Kahlei Gardner is the grandson of Tomi and Robby Henderson of Fayetteville, Willa Turner of Chicago, Ill., and Buford Gardner of Elkton.
