The Lady Falcons at Ninth Grade Academy improved their record to 10-0 last week, defeating Franklin County and Giles County on the road.
Thursday NGA won over the Lady Bobcats, 59-30.
The ladies were scheduled for a girls’ only game Thursday with Hazel Green, but the game was cancelled. Coach Horton picked up a make-up game with Giles County in its place.
NGA jumped out to an early lead, up 14-4 at the end of one.
The ladies won the second frame, 15-10, and were on top, 29-14, at the break.
The Lady Falcons won the second half, 30-16, for the win.
Kyla Parks led for the ladies with 11. Darian Norman had 9; Samantha Williams, 7; McKinley Fitch and Shy Buchanan, 6; Julie Dunn, 4; Bethany Lamon and Lauren Gower, 3.
NGA was 18 of 62 from the paint and 1 of 3 from downtown. From the line, the ladies were 20-25.
On Monday of last week, the ladies won over Franklin County’s JV, 65-53.
NGA was up, 19-11, at the end of one.
The second frame went to the ladies 20-10, and the Lady Falcons were up, 39-21, at the intermission. The ladies shot 50 percent from the floor in the period and went 6 of 7 from the line.
Coach Horton worked into her bench in the third. The Lady Rebels won the quarter, 18-12, and NGA was up, 51-39.
Franklin County won the final stanza, 14-13, and the Lady Falcons had the win.
Samantha Williams led for the ladies with 15 points. McKinley Fitch had 14; Sy Buchanan, 12; Darian Norman, 7; Brianna Sanders, 5; Kayla Parks, 4; Lauren Gower, 3; Rebecca Lewter and Chelsea Gatlin had 2.
The ladies were 19 of 43 inside and 2 of 5 from the arch. From the line, the Lady Falcons were 20 of 32. Three pointers came from Sanders and Gower.
The Lady Falcons wrap up their season Thursday night of this week hosting Shelbyville’s JV with game time at 6 p.m.
