The Middle Tennessee Council of Boy Scouts of America is thrilled to welcome former major league baseball pitcher, David Weathers, to Giles County, where he will be the featured speaker at the Annual Giles & Lincoln County “Friends of Scouting” Luncheon.
This is a chance for business and community leaders to come together in support of local Scouting programs and the young men and women they serve. The fundraiser will be held at First National Bank of Pulaski on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
David Weathers was born and raised in Lawrenceburg. He attended Motlow State Community College and was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the third round of the 1988 Major League Baseball draft. Weathers had a very successful career pitching for twelve professional teams and winning a World Series ring with the New York Yankees in 1996. Weathers ended his career with the Milwaukee Brewers, playing in his final major league game on October 3, 2009.
The Annual Giles & Lincoln County “Friends of Scouting” luncheon is hosted by First National Bank of Pulaski.
Scouting in the local community serves 1,000 youth members and over 150 adult volunteers in Giles, Lincoln, Lawrence and Wayne counties.
