Local charged with prescription fraud

A Lincoln County man who allegedly altered his wife’s prescription, then tried to purchase prescriptions from a local pharmacy, was taken into custody by police on Thursday.

“It was based on the fact that he altered a prescription from nine Lortabs to 19 Lortabs,” said Detective Dion Shockley of the Fayetteville Police Department,

Albert Joel Massey, 24, of 44 Monks Road, Lot 2, was charged with two counts of passing a forged instrument, attempt to possess prescription drugs by fraud, attempt to possess a schedule three drug and forgery.

He was released from the Lincoln County Jail on $30,000 bond.
