Lady Tigers fall to Moore, Community

Fayetteville High School’s Lady Tigers went down on the road to the district-leading Moore County Lady Raiders Tuesday night. Friday, the ladies were defeated on the road by Community.

Currently in District 9-A standings, Moore County and Cascade are 9-1; Community and Forrest, 5-4; Middle Tennessee Christian, 4-5; Huntland, 4-6; Eagleville, 1-8; and Fayetteville is 1-9.

Community

The Lady Viqueens finished on top, 64-40.

Community was up, 14-4, at the end of one and led 32-14 at the break.

The second half went to the Viqueens, 32-26, for the win.

Trevah Thompson led the scoring with 14. Tamia Baker had 12; Paeshence Thompson, 6; Liz Gurley, 5; Jasmine Parks, 2; and Lexie Horton had 1.

Baker hit four shots from the arch; Gurley had one. From the line, the ladies were 9 of 19.

Katie Leverette led for Community with 14.

Moore County

The ladies went down to Moore County Tuesday night, 58-35. The ladies got off to a slow start but won the second quarter, 18-12, and trailed 30-20 at the break. Tamia Baker hit two from the arch in the period.

Moore County came out strong in the third, hitting three from the arch in the 8 minutes. The Lady Raiders won the second half, 28-15, for the win.

Erin Thomas led for Moore County with 18 points, hitting four 3-pointers.

Paeshence Thompson led for the ladies with 12 points. Trevah Thompson had 9; Tamia Baker and Jasmine Parks, 6; and Lexie Horton had 2.

Baker finished with 2 from the arch, and the ladies were 7-14 from the charity line.

For their next action, the ladies host Cascade Tuesday, then Middle Tennessee Christian comes to town on Friday. Game time is at 6 p.m.
