Rowena Cox celebrates a lively 103rd birthday with friends Wednesday. She was honored by Fayetteville Mayor John Ed Underwood with the key to the city and a proclamation honoring her dedicated service to the community.
Lincoln County Mayor Peggy Bevels also presented a proclamation in her honor, designating Jan. 16 as Rowena Cox Day, a colorful pin and a gift that brought big smiles – an animated, singing “Flirty Frog”. Afterward, Bailey Manor served chili for lunch and birthday cake.
