The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) has completed the new 2013 district alignment and football playoff classifications based on enrollments.
Lincoln County High School will remain a part of District 8-AAA, but with changes of enrollment, Falcon football will be classified as a 5A program in the playoff scenario.
As in the past four years, Lincoln County, Columbia, Lawrence County, Shelbyville, Tullahoma and Franklin County remain in the district; as of the 2013 season, Coffee County rejoins the mix.
The Falcons out-of-district schedule has a new look going into the fall. For the first time in the school’s history, there is no match-up with any of the schools from Rutherford County.
Lincoln County opens action, week zero, Aug. 23 hosting Giles County.
New to their schedule is Pope John Paul II slated for a road trip Aug. 30. It will be Lincoln County’s first scheduled meeting with the Knights.
On Sept. 6, LCHS opens district action hosting Franklin County.
On Sept. 13, the Falcons travel to Lebanon. The Blue Devils were on Lincoln County’s schedule from 1989 to 1992. The last time the Falcons met Lebanon was in playoff action in 2007.
On Sept. 20, LCHS hosts Columbia.
Returning to the Falcons’ schedule is Franklin, Sept. 27. The Rebels were on Lincoln County’s schedule from 1993 to 2006.
Oct. 4, Lawrence County comes to town.
On Oct. 11, the Falcons travel to meet Shelbyville.
Coffee County comes to town on Oct. 18.
The Falcons travel to Tullahoma Oct. 25.
Nov. 1, week 10 of the regular season, is the Falcons’ open date.
The games with Pope John Paul II and Lebanon are scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. All other games start at 7 p.m.
