Suspect in meth lab case cuffed

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies apprehended a local man who ran from the scene of an accident recently and was wanted for several charges, including manufacturing meth.

Thomas Wayne Winn, 22, 87 Old Huntsville Road, was arrested during a traffic stop last Thursday. He had been wanted in connection with an accident earlier in December. Winn was one of the drivers involved in a two-vehicle wreck on Bear Wallow Road on Dec. 6. After that accident, deputies had found a complete, one-pot meth lab in Winn’s vehicle.

Winn was charged with two counts of the promotion of the manufacture of methamphetamine, two counts of initiating the process to manufacture meth, possession of schedule II meth, leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a revoked license, failure to appear and a parole violation. He was held at the Lincoln County Jail on $76,500 bond.

Sgt. Jeff Bradford and Deputies Mike Pitts, Lance Jean, Tull Malone and Patrick Murdock were the arresting officers.
