Our nation’s symbol

Bonnie Cowan of Taft captured this photograph of a beautiful bald eagle Friday morning near The Car Shoppe on the Old Huntsville Highway. The national emblem of the United States since 1782 and a spiritual symbol for native people far longer than that, the regal birds were once endangered but have flourished under protection.
