Lincoln County High School picked up an out-of-district win on the road in Coffee County Friday night.
The Falcons won, 65-54, and are now at the 6-3 mark overall.
LCHS was without Ty Lewter and Tyler Jones due to illness.
The Falcons got off to a slow start; midway in the period LCHS trailed 7-2. But, Xavier Talley-Hyde knotted it at 14-14 with two seconds on the clock.
With 7:19 in the second, Justin Blackwell gave the Falcons their first lead of the night, up 16-14. With nine seconds in the first half, B.J. Thompson was fouled, made the basket and dropped the shot from the line. The Falcons were up 29-25 at the break. LCHS would not trail again.
The Falcons won the second half, 36-29, to finish with the win.
B.J. Thompson set the pace with 23 points; Justin Blackwell, 14; Xavier Talley-Hyde, 9; Austin Grimes, 7; Ty Hadley, Tradarius Christian and Riley Malone had 4.
Lincoln County was 21 of 34 from the paint and 3 of 11 from the arch with Talley-Hyde with 2 and Grimes with 1. From the line, the Falcons were 14 of 20 with Christian going 4 for 4.
Lance Crimsond shot well for the Raiders, going 2 for 2 from the paint, 5 of 10 from the arch and 7 of 7 from the line. As a team, Coffee County hit 9 shots from long range.
Both teams finished with 15 turnovers. The Falcons won the boards, 31-21.
For their next action, LCHS was to travel to Marshall County on Monday. Over the Christmas holidays, the Falcons will play in Madison Academy’s Christmas Classic on Thursday, taking on the host school at 7:30 p.m. Friday, LCHS matched up with Columbia High School from Alabama with game time at 12:30 p.m.
