Christmas parade Saturday

The City of Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department’s Annual Christmas Parade will be Saturday, Dec. 15, at 5 p.m.

This year’s theme is, “A Christmas Night to Remember.”

Kimberly Essex, news anchor for WAFF-TV, Huntsville, Ala., is this year’s grand marshal. Kimberly has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast communications from the University of Montevallo and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She has won numerous awards and serves on the board of directors for several organizations in Madison County, Ala.

Unity School’s volleyball team and Riverside Christian Academy’s football team are co-parade marshals. Unity’s volleyball team has been the county champions for three consecutive years, and Riverside Christian Academy’s football team is the 2012 MTAC State Champions for Division 2.
