NGA ladies have 3-0 start to season

Ninth Grade Academy’s Lady Falcons (3-0) picked up two wins last week. On Thursday, the ladies defeated Franklin County. in their home opener of the season. Monday, they picked up a win on the road over Hazel Green.
NGA’s Lady Falcons won their first home game of the season, defeating Franklin County, 56-34.
Samantha Williams scored the first basket of the game – the ladies would not trail during the match-up.
It was the transition and inside game that put points on the board for the Lady Falcons, attempting only one 3-pointer during the match-up.
The ladies were up 12-6 at the end of one and 28-10 at the intermission.
NGA won the second half, 28-24, to finish with the win.
Sy Buchanan led for the ladies with 16 points. Samantha Williams had 10; Rebecca Lewter, Kayla Parks, Darian Norman and Karla Lua had 6; Mackinley Fitch, Brianna Sanders and Bethany Lamon scored 2.
NGA was 26-48 from the pain and 0 of 1 from the arch. From the line, the ladies were 4 of 6.
The Lady Falcons pulled 43 rebounds, led by Karla Lua with 6. Rebecca Lewter and Darian Norman had 5. The Lady Rebels had 26 boards.
NGA had 30 turnovers with Franklin County having 6. NGA had 16 steals, led by Buchanan with 10. The Lady Rebels had one steal.

The ladies had a easy time on a road trip Monday night, defeating Hazel Green, 51-23.
NGA got off to a fast start, up 18-4 at the end of the first quarter. It was a 36-12 ball game at the break.
The Lady Falcons won the second half, 15-11, for the win.
Twelve ladies put points on the board for the Lady Falcons. Brianna Sanders led with 10; Bethany Lamon and Samantha Williams scored 6; Sy Buchanan and Shelby Motter, 5; Mackinley Fitch, Chelsea Gatlin and Darian Norman, 4; Julie Dunn and Morgan Frame, 2; and Kayla Parks scored 1.
NGA was 19 of 45 from the paint and 3 for 11 from the arch. The ladies were 4 of 9 from the line.
Brianna Sanders hit two 3-pointers. Shelby Motter had one.
Ninth Grade Academy finished with 18 steals, led by Sy Buchanan with 6 and Mackinley Fitch with 5.
For their next action, the ladies travel to Shelbyville on Monday, then host Giles County on Thursday. Game time is at 6 p.m.
