Employees within the Lincoln County Health System recently enjoyed participating in a pumpkin decorating contest and their first ever chili cook-off competition.
Employees from Lincoln Medical Center, Patrick Rehab and Wellness Center, Lincoln and Donalson Care Centers, Behavioral Health, Lincoln Medical Home Health and Hospice and the medical staff all took part.
“This is a great way to show our employees how much they are appreciated and a way for them to be able to show off some of their other talents,” explained Wendy Nogler, facility-wide human resource director.
“Employee recognition is key within the health system,” continued Nogler. “If our employees are happy and feel that they are appreciated then the quality of care they give will exceed what we are striving to provide.”
There were many entries in each contest. From witch and snowmen pumpkins to a pumpkin dressed as a patient, the entries were endless, and creativity was at an all-time high. The chili was just as tasty, and employees enjoyed sampling the various recipes whether they were hot and spicy or old-time family favorites.
“We look forward to this event again next year,” Nogler. “We are anxious to see what all the creative minds will come up with as well as get to enjoy the happiness it brings to all our employees.”
Winners of “Best Chili” honors were Dr. Theresa Morrison, Pat Ernsberg and Phila Groce. Taking “Best Pumpkin” honors were Evelyn Childers, Renee Bradford and the radiology department.
