A two-vehicle crash late last Sunday night in Hazel Green, Ala., killed three men and injured two others.
Timothy Chad Swafford, 21, of Elora, was killed when the northbound 2013 Dodge Dart that he was driving collided head-on with a southbound 2007 Kia driven by Wendy Staton, 45, of Hazel Green, stated Alabama State Trooper Curtis Summerville.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:24 p.m.
“Swafford’s vehicle was fully engulfed in flames, and he was pronounced dead at the scene,” Trooper Summerville said. “Two passengers in Swafford’s vehicle, Jeffery Allen Stewart, 24, and Jonah Isaac Bradley, 19, both of Belvidere, were also pronounced dead at the scene.”
A third passenger, Robert Terpay, 19, of Elora, was transported to Huntsville Hospital for emergency care.
Stanton was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
The investigation is continuing, but Alabama State Troopers say that speed may have been a factor.
