Lincoln County High School’s Lady Falcons (2-1) picked up a big win on the road Tuesday night, defeating Moore County, 44-28.
The Lady Raiders came into the match-up with a 45-39 loss to Summertown and a 62-58 win over Richland.
Moore County was up 13-7 at the end of one and 20-13 at the break. But, in the first minute of the third, Elizabeth Faulkner and McKinley Slayton each nailed a 3-pointer that got the ball rolling. With 4:04, Shy Buchanan hit a three, putting the ladies up 22-20. Khiana Miller also hit a 3-pointer in the period.
Defensively, the ladies held the Lady Raiders to two free throws in the eight minutes and were up 25-22 at the end of three.
Lincoln County won the fourth quarter, 19-6, led by Cortney Storey with 11 points in the period, 7 coming from the line.
Turnovers decided the game. Moore County finished with 24 miscues to 7 for LCHS. The Lady Falcons picked up 30 points off turnovers.
At the 1:54 mark, a frustrated Moore County Coach Bruce Slatten slammed his clipboard to the floor, drawing a technical foul. Storey went to the line and dropped both free throws, putting the ladies up 37-28.
Nine ladies added points to the board. Storey led with 15; McKinley Slayton had 6; Shy Buchanan and Elizabeth Faulkner scored 5; Khiana Miller, Morgan Higgins and Whitney Graham had 3; Khaila King and Reilly Watson scored 2.
The ladies were 13 of 54 from the paint and 7 of 26 from the arch. From the line, LCHS was 11 of 16 for the night. Storey finished 8 of 8.
Moore County won the boards, 34-31. Storey and Faulkner led for the ladies with 7 rebounds each.
The ladies have three games at home this week with Hazel Green Tuesday, Coffee County Thursday and Loretto on Saturday. Game times are at 6 p.m.
