Bennigan’s breaks ground
Officials broke ground Monday morning for a new Bennigan’s restaurant and pub next door to the Hampton Inn that is under construction just off the Huntsville Highway in Fayetteville.
“We are proud to be able to bring the legendary service and memorable dining experience of Bennigan’s to all who live in the community,” said David Hunt, Bennigan’s franchisee, who is also the developer of the adjacent Hampton Inn. “In addition, we are thrilled to sign an agreement to develop four more Bennigan’s restaurants throughout Jackson and Memphis.”
The developer had considered an O’Charley’s as well as a Perkins’ restaurant for the location here in Fayetteville, but with Monday’s groundbreaking, the deal for the Bennigan’s is sealed.
Hunt was joined at the site of the groundbreaking by his wife, Melissa, and Paul Mangiamele, president and chief executive officer of Bennigan’s. They have been working with officials of the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Industrial Development in the development of both the hotel and restaurant projects.
During their regular meeting held early Monday morning, IDB officials said construction will begin very quickly on the restaurant, to be situated just south of the hotel. Officials also noted that the hotel is approximately 65 percent complete and that completion is anticipated in the early spring of 2013.
Bennigan’s currently has 75 locations and has undergone a brand refresh at the company’s two corporate locations. Plans are to bring the same menu optimization and service enhancements to each of its existing and future franchise locations. Bennigan’s was established 36 years ago.
